Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel paid tribute to former Lok Sabha MP, former Union Minister, and pioneer of journalism Mr Chandulal Chandrakar on his birth anniversary which falls on January 1.

Recalling the contribution of Mr Chandrakar to Chhattisgarh, CM Baghel said that Chandulal Chandrakar ji has an invaluable contribution in the formation of Chhattisgarh state.

He gave a new direction to the state’s movement as the president of the all-party forum.

He was elected to the Lok Sabha five times and continued to serve the public. He did remarkable work during his tenure as minister of important departments like tourism, civil aviation, agriculture, and rural development.

CM Baghel said that Chandulal Ji was involved in active journalism before politics and earned a lot of fame as a journalist in the country and abroad.

He was the first person from Chhattisgarh to reach the post of editor of a national newspaper.

He raised many crucial matters with his writing. In order to encourage value-based journalism, the Government of Chhattisgarh has started to give Chandulal Chandrakar Fellowship in the field of journalism in his memory. Mr. Chandulal Chandrakar, who brought glory to Chhattisgarh in the country with fearless and value-based journalism, is a source of inspiration for the new generation.
