Bastar’s Police security camps have become facility centres for the villagers…

Jawans shared their experiences during the discussion with the Chief Minister.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel appreciated the spirit of the soldiers posted on duty in the interior areas of Bastar zone at the New Year meeting ceremony of the police personnel organized in the police line today. Addressing the gathering, CM Baghel said, “Despite many challenges, our jawans are discharging their duties very well. The trust and security of the general public has increased with their prompt duty. This is our biggest achievement.”

During the discussion with the Chief Minister, Ms. Sunaina Patel, a member of Danteshwari Fighters, told that she has been coming to Raipur for the last 3 years to attend the New Year meeting and in these years, The membership of Danteshwari Fighters has increased from 30 to 60. She further said that she is proud to work for the state by taking on the responsibility of important tasks like Naxal patrolling, handling of Naxal fronts and opening of new camps. On being asked by the Chief Minister about her work, she said that the people of the region mostly come in the camps for women’s health related problems. Ration shop, ambulance, health centers and police help center have been set up in Kamaluru and interior areas. On the request of Chief Minister Baghel, she spoke in Halbi dialect. On which the Chief Minister thanked her in halbi dialect as well.

On the request of Chief Minister, a jawan sang the song “Mai Chhattisgarhiya Hanv Re” by Chhattisgarh’s popular lyricist Laxman Masturia. The STF jawan told that he has represented the security work force in the construction of 05 camps. He further informed that positive response is being received from the local people everywhere towards the security camps and people are insisting on setting up even more camps. The main reason for this is that we are providing treatment through health camps along with the construction of roads from the camp and reconstruction of schools.

Establishment of camps in remote and inaccessible areas has reduced Naxalite incidents.

The ASI of DRG who came from Kondagaon district informed that earlier he was involved in Naxalite activities. He joined DRG under the rehabilitation policy of Chhattisgarh Government. On being asked by Chief Minister Baghel, he told that earlier he had to wander in the forest but now he is leading a happy life. There has been a decrease in Naxalite incidents due to the opening of camps in remote and inaccessible areas. Ms. Poonam Yadav, a woman member of DRG told that she was instrumental in the construction of Potampalli and Palaiguda camps in Sukma district. She told that in the initial phase of the construction of the camp, the local people first protested. But now due to developmental works like barracks, toilets, fencing, lights and road construction , the fear of the people has started reducing.

Reduction in road cutting incidents

DRG Jawan Shri Ram Lal Netam posted in Bijapur informed that camps have been opened in Itepal and Pusnar due to which there has been a decrease in the incidents of road cutting by Naxalites. CRPF’s Ms. Johnsy Jana said that CRPF has been given an important responsibility towards the state’s security and they work in cooperation with the state police as well. The road connectivity and facilities have also increased in the rural areas through the camps. The trust of the local people on the police has increased. BSF Jawan Prashant Chaturvedi told that he has been posted in the security of Raoghat project since last 02 years. The support and trust of the local people has increased towards the jawans than before. Contrary to the Naxalite image, now the view of outsiders towards the state has also turned positive. ITBP jawan Rajesh Luthra appreciated the cooperation being received by the police force and police superintendents of the state. He thanked ADG Vivekanand Sinha and said that Sinha is always present to solve all our needs and complaints and also solves them within 48 hours.

Yoga camps are being organized in the villages.

The jawans of the Border Security Force said that their team is committed to fulfill the developmental aspirations of the people. They established a new record by operating railways in remote areas like Antagarh. Chief Constable of the District Police Force Narsing Rupendra Verma told that his work is to provide first aid to the people in the camps. They provide yoga training to children, old people and women along with other sports activities by organizing camps in the village. Anupama Kapoor from Surguja informed that the villagers are very happy with the construction of road between the remote regions of Bhutahi and Putang in Balrampur. The police personnel and villagers actively participated in door-to-door flag campaign and also hoisted the flag on the highest peak Gourlata. She is also making people aware about the “Hamar Beti Humar Maan” scheme. SDRF jawan Jageshwar Dhivar said that 60 teams are deployed in the state to deal with any kind if emergency. She said to Baghel that Under your guidance, our team also worked with full readiness in the country’s longest rescue of a child named Rahul which lasted for more than 100 hours. We also trained 1200 Aapda Mitras to deal with floods and various natural calamities. Appreciating their work, the Chief Minister congratulated them.
