The Department of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection has issued instructions to supply kerosene through the Public Distribution System (PDS) to ration cards with gas connections in non-scheduled locations.
It is worth noting that 5148 kiloliters of kerosene will be sold at a fair price shop-wise for the month of February 2023 under the Chhattisgarh Food and Nutritional Security Act for ration cards and hawkers from the kerosene allocation received from the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, New Delhi.
The online allocation has been made. 5099 for PDS and 48.95 kiloliters of kerosene for hawkers. The Department of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection has sent a letter to all collectors and state-level oil industry coordinators to that effect.
According to the Food Department’s letter, all Antyodaya and priority ration cards issued under the PDS will be eligible.
A maximum of 2 liters of kerosene will be sufficient for ration card holders in urban areas, 3 liters for ration card holders in scheduled rural areas, and 2 liters for ration card holders in non-scheduled areas. Hawkers, on the other hand, have been given a separate allowance of 85 liters.
Ration card holders will be given kerosene by hawkers who will stand in front of recognized fair-price stores.
The district-wise kerosene allocation for the month of February is as follows. Allocation of 264 kiloliters of kerosene has been issued for Bastar district.
